So, here's a picture of Wilby - my first drawing ever of a pony. I originally drew the sketch
with the intent of attaching and submitting an open letter I wrote regarding the whole Derpy fiasco. But I decided not to. Wasn't really that insightful. That decision is reflected in the letter being changed to a drawing.
The vectors were done in Paint Shop Pro 8 instead of Flash. Why? Uh, I guess out of stubbornness. I don't know how to use Flash very well... not that I'm particularly good with PSP8 either, but... anyway. Does anybody know how to taper lines using either Flash or PSP8? I tried forever to figure it out, but in the end I had to do it manually. I was originally going to import a photo of Lauren Faust for the picture frame, but then decided to vectorise it instead (though ultra-low in detail).
I really have to say, I understand now why people keep drawing using the Friendship is Magic style. It's so intoxicating that I want to do it more. The reason why I wanted to learn how to imitate their style is for a project I have planned. But that's for a little later, once I have free time.
As always, tips, critique, comments are always appreciated.
EDIT: Mane looks like a mullet. I'm shortening it in future.
